My Colette Patterns Sewing Handbook arrived on Monday. Yay! 🙂 It’s so pretty!
Unfortunately (fortunately?) I was home sick yesterday so I had plenty of time to lay in bed and read! 🙂 I finished it. Lots of good info in there, especially as I’m a beginner. The other awesome thing is that 5 Colette Patterns are included with the book! I’m thinking of making the dress on the cover for my maid-of-honour’s 30th birthday party in 3 weeks. 🙂
I’ve already started on the Meringue skirt from the book as well. Look at those scallops!
I’m making it with some awesome yellow 70’s-esque poplin I picked up from Spotlight for like $4 a metre. I bought what was left on the bolt. See how pretty, cut scallops and all!
And just to be really fancy, I’ve been making my own bias binding out of the same fabric to finish the bottom of the facings and the internal seams
Unfortunately I made this one on my measurements with the pattern measurements and it’s actually too small in reality! I’m in the process of shaping up so it’ll only be a couple of weeks until I can wear this beauty! I’m looking forward to sewing the scallops. 🙂
