This was a quick little knit I finished a couple of weeks ago.
Back story first: I joined a 3-month yarn club through Knitalpaca and this was my first shipment of yarn. (Head over there too, the yarn club is only $55 for all three months with free shipping within Australia. On top of that, you receive 15% off their products for the duration of your club membership. How could you not?) They have a cool story too; the lady who created Knitalpaca sources all her wool from local breeders and gets it spun locally too. Other than one variety of yarn, they do not use dyes in their yarns from what I can see. The colour you get is the colour off the animal. Cool huh?
I received two balls of their Opula 100% alpaca yarn in a rich, chocolatey brown. Each ball had approximately 120m (~131 yards) so plenty to make the Age of Brass and Steam Kerchief (pattern free on Ravelry here). The pattern is pretty straightforward consisting mostly of stockinette stitch with raised, purl rows bordering an eyelet row.
